What is Sinusitis?

Your sinuses are located behind your forehead, eyes, and cheeks, and are small air-filled spaces. As your body creates mucus, healthy sinuses will allow this mucus to drain out into the nasal cavity and allow for proper air flow.

However, some people experience swelling of the sinus linings. This inflammation prevents the mucus from draining, and leads to infection in the sinus cavities. This condition is called sinusitis.
